The Department of Statistics of the University of Connecticut (UConn) is proud to host the 37th New England Statistics Symposium on May 20 - 24, 2024. As an annual event, the symposium has been bringing together statisticians from all over New England and beyond to a central location to share research, discuss emerging issues in the field, and network with colleagues since it was first started at UConn in 1987. The symposium will be hybrid, with in-person sessions held at Storrs (UConn campus) and all sessions broadcast live. Please refer to the UCONN-GUEST page for internet access at UConn campus.
Short courses will be offered on May 20 – 21, 2024, and the main conference program will be on May 22 – 24, 2024. We will, as usual, have keynote sessions, invited sessions, and a poster session. Students are encouraged to participate in the research and poster competitions. In addition to the keynote talks, a banquet talk will be given by Dr. Eric Kolaczyk from McGill University and a Chernoff Lecture to be delivered by the recipient of the Chernoff Excellence in Statistics Award. Here is a link to the NESS history with the previous prestigious keynote speakers: https://nestat.org/events/symposium/.
